You could tell by the haircut that Brook Lopez is in full off-season mode. In fact, at first glance, you might even doubt his true identity — his trademark close-shorn, clean-cut do, probably the only thing that physically distinguishes him from his twin brother, has grown into a mid-sized Robin Lopez-poodle-fuzz.
“Definitely, I’m going to get a cut before the season starts,” Brook says with a wry smile.
The haircut can wait. But for now, the hairdo that he’s rocking is just fine. It especially looked nice against the bright Saturday skies above the Music Hall at SM Mall of Asia (August 18).
Despite having a lot on his plate on the first day, Brook still had so much energy on the second day of the NBA 3X festivities. The recently re-signed, $61 million-man conducted a basketball clinic for the public, teaching kids how to properly handle the ball with strength while demonstrating his sweet form that consistently gives him deuces from 15 feet.
“I like the new stuff I learned from Brook, katulad nung paano mag-dribble against contact,” Carlo Tan, a participant at the clinic, excitedly shares.
Before the clinic, the Stanford-bred Lopez, along with NBA fans at the Mall of Asia, watched on as a couple of Pinoy high-flyers participated in the Sprite Slam Dunk qualifiers.
The Charlotte Bobcats Lady Cats and “Stuff” the Magic Dragon of the Orlando Magic also rocked the house with dazzling dance performances and amazing stunts.
