Another step in Japeth Aguilar’s dream of being the first Filipino in the NBA has been completed. The former number 1 pick in the PBA Draft was part of a private workout for two scouts from different NBA organizations.
Asian Journal reports that Aguilar wore “a certain NBA teams colors” to the workout held at a high school in Woodland Hills, CA, but that his U.S. based agent Chris McGarry refrained from giving details, saying: “Well, it’s all over the news. As far as we can say we’re not going to disclose any team, [or] disclose any location.
“All we can say is that he [Aguilar] had a private workout and call up and we obliged. All we can say is that we’re happy with what happened. We’re happy with the situation.”
Citing sources that were present at the workout, but were not authorized to talk to the media, the Journal further reports that the session lasted a little over an hour and was made up of some basic “game simluated NBA drills.”
