Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis lead Team World’s win in the 2017 NBA Africa Game

Team World 108 – Team Africa 97

It was a close game all throughout but Team World ended the game strong to win the 2017 NBA Africa Game.

With less than two minutes left in the game and Team World holding a slim one-point lead, 98-97, Kristaps Porzingis got a crucial steal and pitched the ball ahead to Kyle Lowry. The Raptors point guard got an and-one floater to fall when Victor Oladipo was called for a blocking foul. That basket gave Team World a 101-97 lead. Lowry followed that up with a drive against Toronto team mate Serge Ibaka for the dagger lay-up. That shot gave Team World a 103-96 lead with 36 seconds left in the game.

Jaylen Brown led Team World with 15 points. He had several highlights including a circus shot layup and a windmill layup to close the game. Kristaps Porzingis scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Andre Drummond had a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds.

TeamAfrica’s Oladipo was named the Manute Bol MVP of the game despite the loss. He scored 28 points, pulled down nine rebounds and dished out five assists. Emmanuel Mudiay nearly had a triple-double for Team Africa. with 22 points, eight rebounds and nine assists.
