New head coach of the Barako Bull Energy Cola, Rajko Toroman, has practices that people have come to describe as if he were a drill sergeant. High intensity, no bullshit, run until I say stop type of drills that could give some players a problem.
One player that will have a lot of pressure in the practices is Josh Urbiztondo. The Fireball will assume the position of JVee Casio in the Barako Bull-Gilas comparison. He will be the one that will have to know everything about the offense. He will have to be the example to the rest of the team.
Luckily, being that Josh Urbiztondo is the Fireball, he doesn’t get tired. “I like the practices. They are always high octane and high intensity,” shares the floor general. “Usually, there are lulls in practices. Not with Coach Rajko. Everything that we did was at a higher level.”
When asked how the veterans are taking the intense practices, Urbiztondo said that they are giving it their all. “They might be having a hard time, but they are going all out. If Mick (Pennisi) can get up and down, none of us have any excuses that we can’t do it with him.”
