Kristaps Porzingis tears ACL on his left knee

Another All-Star suffers a major injury.

In the second quarter of the game between the New York Knicks and the Milwaukee Bucks, Kristaps Porzingis cut into the paint and thundered home a dunk over fellow unicorn Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Porzingis landed awkwardly on his left knee and immediately crumbled onto the floor clutching his knee and grimacing in pain. The injury looked severe as he pounded the hardwood and stayed down for several minutes. He had to be helped off the floor, gingerly walking to the dugout.

A video of Porzingis walking out of the arena was seen a few minutes after his injury which gave some hope that the injury wasn’t that serious.

But the MRI confirmed the Knicks worst fears. Porzingis suffered an ACL tear on his left knee.

This means that Porzingis will most likely miss the rest of the season.

Porzingis missed a few games earlier this season due to an ankle sprain. But he returned to full strength after that and was leading the Knicks. He was named to his first All-Star team this year averaging 22.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in 32.8 minutes of play.

Porzingis is the fourth All-Star on Team LeBron to get injured since the rosters were announced. DeMarcus Cousins, John Wall, and Kevin Love were the other All-Stars who had to pull out of the All-Star Game due to injuries.
