LeBron James and Anthony Davis win their second straight NBA Player of the Month awards to close out the 2017-2018 NBA regular season.
There’s no slowing down the King as he takes home three Player of the Month awards this season. James played 22 games in March and April. During that stretch he led the league in scoring with 29.6 points per game. He nearly averaged a triple-double for the second straight month with 9.5 assists (2nd in the East) and 9.4 rebounds (5th in the East). He had with six triple-doubles in that span to finish with a career-high 18 for the season. James’ best game came in March when he had 35 points and 17 assists to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a win over the East-leading Toronto Raptors.
Anthony Davis powered the New Orleans Pelicans to a 13-7 record in March and April, including five straight wins to close out the regular season, to lead his team back to the Playoffs. During that stretch Davis led the league in blocks (3.6 per game) and was third in scoring (28.2 per game). He also had 11.1 rebounds (7th in the NBA) and 1.8 steals (4th in the West). Davis had a big game against the defending champion, Golden State Warriors with 34 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and four blocks to lead them to the win.
