What are you smoking?!
The game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Minnesota Timberwolves in Mexico had to be cancelled because of a huge cloud of smoke in the Mexico City Arena. The smoke was coming from the generator that was powering an escalator malfunctioned. Luckily, no one was hurt as it all happened before the arena opened to the public.
Commissioner David Stern wanted to see if the game can still be started, but there was just too much smoke in the arena for them to even let the fans in. (Insert joke involving Snoop Dogg here.) The game has yet to be rescheduled, though it will be played in Minny.
