SLAM Philippines’ Champion of Champions tournament goes into the semifinals this week. We had a couple blowout wins and a couple games that went down to the wire in last week’s quarterfinals. Four teams went home and four moved on in our search for the best champion team within the last eight title holders.

The match-ups between the TNT teams and the Barangay Ginebra teams were all massive beat downs. The latest PhilCup Champs in the Tropang Texters easily moved past the first Talk ‘N Text champion team. On the other end, the last Ginebra squad to get a title in the All-Filipino Cup won by getting 75% of the votes against their predecessor.

The TNT vs Sta. Lucia showdown came down to the final buzzer. The Mac Cardona led team pulled up a grind it out win against Kelly Williams and the rest of the Realtors by just two votes to move on into the semis. As for the Purefoods match-up, the Chunkee Giants advanced after winning their game, 51% to 49% according to your votes.

Now, we enter the Final Four.

The last two games before we reach the Finals of the Champion of Champions tournament. First, the recent Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters will be taking on the 2006-07 Barangay Ginebra Kings. Second, the 2008-09 #TNTNation will be clashing against the Purefoods Chunkee Giants from the 2005-06 season.

Who will advance to the Finals? Will we see the Manila Clasico of Champions? Will it be an All-TNT showdown?

You decide!

Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters (2010-2013) vs Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings (2006-07)

Two of the deepest champion teams in the tournament will clash in this semifinals of Champion of Champions.

TNT and Ginebra have all of the weapons that any team could ask for. A bench that has interchangeable parts. A team that has as much offensive power as defensive.

Imagine seeing a younger Mark Caguioa going against Ryan Reyes and Jayson Castro driving against a younger Ronald Tubid. That would just be insane.

But who takes it? What do you think?
