The Philippines is once again putting their reputation as one of the best basketball countries on the line as they team up with Japan and Indonesia to bid for the hosting of the FIBA 2023 World Cup.
Back in 2015, the Philippines bid for the right to host the 2019 World Cup. Unfortunately, we lost to China, who will be hosting the event in two years.
Given this new chance, the Philippines is going all out and vowing to #PlayLouderin2023. Coach Chot Reyes, SBP President Al Panlilio and Gilas Pilipinas backer Manuel V. Pangilinan are among the contingent in Switzerland to bid for the hosting in 2023.

The Philippines/Japan/Indonesia group is going up against a team composed of Argentina and Uruguay. According to this report by FIBA, each bidder was asked to answer two questions:
- What are the three reasons why you believe you should host the FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2023?
- What would it mean to you to host the first-ever FIBA Basketball World Cup staged in multiple countries?

FIBA will announce the hosts of the 2023 World Cup by today.
