REPORT: Phoenix Suns trade Eric Bledsoe to Milwaukee Bucks

After weeks of uncertainty, the Phoenix Suns have finally dealt their disgruntled point guard.

In a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe, the Suns will be sending Eric Bledsoe to the Milwaukee Bucks for a package that includes center Greg Monroe and picks.

The picks included in the deal are protected first and second round draft picks for next year’s draft.

This trade comes weeks after Bledsoe signifed that he wanted out of Phoenix via a tweet. This was one of the worst ways for the Suns to start the season. The Suns weren’t buying his excuse for the tweet (which has become a mini-meme that week) and sent the guard home. Since removing Bledsoe from all team activities, including games, the Suns had a sort of revival, winning four out of their five games before losing three straight again.

Eric Bledsoe

This trade is purely a way to dump Bledsoe. There’s no assurance that the Suns will keep Greg Monroe on the team.

As for the Bucks, this definitely boosts the team’s playoff chances. They get an All-Star caliber scorer and ball handler to pair with their MVP candididate Giannis Antetokoumpo. This also frees up Thon Maker as the main big man of the Bucks moving forward.

Based on the feedback of the entire team, they’re excited for this trade. Bucks GM, Jon Horst is looking forward to bringing Bledsoe on board.

“Eric is a dynamic player who brings scoring and toughness to the court while enhancing our young and talented core.”

Bucks forward Khris Middleton, echoes the sentiments of his GM.

“I’m excited to play with him. We can do a lot of things. We’ll have more ball-handlers on the court at the same time. He’s going to be a great for us.”

Both Bledsoe and the Suns get a fresh start from this deal.
