SLAM’s All College Fives: Promising

Now that the UAAP Finals is about to start, and the NCAA elimination round is in its last week, SLAM Online PH has decided to do something that never seems to be done before. Why not make some All-College line-ups?

What would happen if the NCAA and the UAAP were put in a blender? Who would stand out in certain categories? Who would be the best of the best? The worst of the worst? The five players that will literally kill each other because the other four wont pass the ball either? That is what we at SLAM are set to do.

To start out our All College Fives, we will look into the Top 5 Promising Players for the season. Those that will be big names next year, despite being massively overlooked this time around. Nikko Ramos, Robi Raya, and Aaron Atayde will break it down for you. Don’t agree? The comment section open for suggestions.

G – Scottie Thompson, UPHSD
G – Paolo Taha, DLS-CSB
C – Norbert Torres, DLSU
F – Rodney Brondial, AdU
F – Josan Nimes , MIT

Paolo Taha realized towards the end of the season that he can do other things apart from rebounding the ball. Those sick hops and insane athleticism can actually help you score points. Norbert Torres and Rodney Brondial are crafty, skilled big men who should get more touches and plays run for them next year. Scottie Thompson will blossom once he gets a consistent shot apart from a layup and the new and improved Josan Nimes will be joining Kevin Alas and Calvin Abueva in the triple-threat, franchise player, do-it-all club as long as he keeps avoiding the Bwakaw List.
