The Star Hotshots held a press conference earlier today in the Ynares Arena to announce their new team name.
For the upcoming PBA season, the Star Hotshots will now be known as the Magnolia Hotshots.
From Star, which was closer to their origins as hotdogs, the Magnolia Hotshots will be known as the Pambansang Manok. This rebrand will focus on the Magnolia chicken products which can be seen in the elements in the new logo and their mascot.
This is the second time in three years that the franchise has changed names and logos. From the San Mig Coffee Mixers the team rebranded to Purefoods Star and eventually Star Hotshots in 2014.
The players and officials, including new players rookies Robbie Herndon and Gwynne Capacio were introduced during the press conference.
