WATCH: 20+ point games from Lakers’ young guns power them past the Magic

With the career of LA Lakers icon Kobe Bryant getting shorter and shorter, fans of the team are starting to wonder what next season will look like without the Black Mamba.

If they can get consistent efforts each night like what happened today from their young guns, things shouldn’t be too bad.

Fil-Am Jordan Clarkson, second overall pick D’Angelo Russell, and Julius Randle all scored at least 20 points as a strong third quarter effort powered them past the Orlando Magic, 107-98.

Trailing 51-45 at the half, the Lakers unleashed a 39-26 period out of the break to take this one.

And with Bryant sitting this one out, the team’s rookie and sophomores did more than enough heavy lifting in this victory.

D’Angelo Russell led the way with 27 points on 11-of-19 shooting, in addition to two rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Jordan Clarkson added 24 markers, five boards and three more assists, while big man Julius Randle amassed a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds, plus two more swipes.

That was more than enough to beat back a tired Orlando Magic team on the second night of a back-to-back.

The Lakers improved to 14-51 as a result, but they shouldn’t be in too much of a hurry to win a ton of games down this stretch. Remember, if their draft pick falls out of the top three, it goes to the Philadelphia 76ers.
