Balitang America caught up with rising star Kobe Paras, in his first interview following the announcement that he was moving to Creighton University.
“It’s been a crazy month,” said Paras. “I’m happy there were a lot of coaches who hit me up after the incident. And I felt really loved. It’s crazy how I saw that there’s not just one school out there for me. There’s a lot of schools I can choose [from], but I found the perfect fit, and being a Blue Jay is what it is.”
Paras was previously set to become a UCLA Bruin, but had to de-commit due to an admissions issue. He eventually settled on Creighton University, a private, Jesuit college in Omaha, Nebraska, that plays in the Big East Conference.
Notable Creighton alumni in the NBA include Doug McDermott and Kyle Korver.
In the interview, Paras made sure to thank his fans on social media for their support. “You guys showed me love even though I was down, and at my ups, you guys praised me. It’s been an amazing journey not just from last month, two months ago, but from the first day I got here,” he said.
